4W4K3 Look it up under Pelican parts under transmissions. i think they are about 5.00 each or so. Not a wallet killer..That's where I got mine. BTW, there is also another magnet in the rear of the trans, but you'll have to unbolt the rear housing and replace the paper gasket that lives between the aluminum housing and the cast iron section. PITA. You'll also have to do the new rear rubber gasket as well. Maybe not but that's the was the WSM said I had to do it. Maybe Kevin Gross or someone else can give a tip or two here. Hope this helps some?

Does this look like the correct o-ring?
http://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Inf...EM&SVSVSI=1017

It's listed on the Transmission section under "Manual Transmission Coolers" but sometimes parts have multiple purposes/descriptions in Pelican's categorization.

Nope. the O-ring I was referencing is a big one. almost the size of the side plate. about 6-7 inches in diameter. I'll try to post the pelican and the Pet #s for you..It's just inside the side plate. Helps to keep the gear oil inside the transaxle where it belongs. Hope this helps some.

OK.here ya go...here is the # in the PET 113-301-185a. Look it up in Pelican for this #. They go for about 10.50 for the Porsche OE , or 2.00 for their aftermarket brand. Hope this helps. you'll have to drift out the retaining pin to get the magnet out. No springs or booby traps.. Pelican calls it a transmission sealing ring or somesuch. Anyway, hope this helps if you want to dive in..BTW, you might want to invest in a CD of the PET. (Porsche Ersatz Teile). ((Porsche replacement parts)). It will help you get the factory part #s and most parts suppliers will cross it over to their # for a quicker and more accurate description. I can't live w/o my copy that I downloaded into my magic box. Good luck!

Thanks Tiger! Am I correct in assuming there are two o-rings - one for each side of the differential? And as far as the magnet location, will they be clearly visible once I pull this plate off?

Yepper..one for each side and the magnet will be quite visible and attached to the plate. I don't think that there is any difference between the sides.. mine went on easily.. use lots of brake cleaner where the surfaces meet and keep them clean before the re-install...Gluck Auf!!

Hey guys, it's been a minute but I wanted to let you know I got everything put back together with no leaks! Working on finishing up my front brake refresh now and then she'll be back on the road. Thanks for everything!
