1984 944 for sale in Fayetteville, NC
Vin # WP04AA0947FN357177. 45000 on odometer. For sale by a body shop that did repair work but the vehicle was never claimed reclaimed. Shop has title. Asking $3500.00, prob will take $3000.00. The vin show no reports on carfax. New black paint, some repairs to interior components. % cylinder, non- turbo (so the shop owner says).
I just stopped to look at it on a whim, but I'm kind of halfway thinking about picking it up. Unfortunately, I have no idea what to look for regarding potential problems. All I really did was take a cursory look, and start it up. Any advice?
Thanks, Mike Arnold.

Don't rely on the odometer reading - 5-digit, could have rolled over once or twice by now. Look for things like seat wear, clutch pedal wear, etc. (though all those can be replaced as well)
Reminds me of a guy who used to be on here, Swifty Zen Bad, who found out his "low mileage" 944 had at least ~250k miles on it (he found out for sure the odometer had rolled over at twice, possibly three times)

I am in Fayetteville and can meet you to look at it some day soon. Is it the black car sitting up against the road on Murchison Avenue?
Most of my experience is with racing 944s so Im no good on interior advice, but mechanically I feel pretty confident on just about everything 944.
