Hello forum people! I have a automatic 89 944 NA 2.7L with 182,837 miles that won't start. It was sitting awhile and didn't start when I bought it, the owner said that he traced the problem down to the fuel pump. I replaced the fuel pump and the fuel filter, but wouldn't start. I found that the DME repay was bad so I resoldered it and it worked fine but didn't start the car. So I checked for spark and found the ignition coil welded itself to the spark plug wire. I replaced the coil but to no avail it wouldn't start. I kept trying to start it and somehow I got it running, didn't do anything but crank the car, drove it around my cul de sac and found that the radiator hose was leaking (ordered one online) and called it a night. Three days later I was going to change the oil and attempted to drive it up some ramps to drain the oil, but once again, just didn't want to start. Found there is no spark, but there was gas coming to the fuel rail, so I replaced the plugs, cap and rotor, and STILL won't start. Im stumped at this point, have no idea whats wrong with it.
If you're still reading, 60% or more of the components in under the hood are new, including a transmission that was replaced in 1995 with 165,597 miles.
