Default Leather - Where to buy?

Anyone know where I can buy leather? Pre-dyed would be nice if you do know. Thanks

How much and what kind? I have a source for complete hides in most colors, but it's furniture leather. I don't know if the treatments are different for auto upholstery, but I bet they are.

They should be different since furniture isn't exposed to sunlight and heat as much as a car.

Ouch, that about $25 per square foot. Time to start raising that cow in my back yard.

Yeah, and to perforate it, I think it's another 25 bucks per piece.

Looking at Tandy Leather, from their faq here is some info on their dyes:

How do I dye my auto and home upholstery?

"The dyes, antique stains, and finishes we sell are not intended for staining, dyeing or the refinishing of leather automobile interiors, leather furniture, leather garments, or any other finished leather articles. They are strictly designed to use on Vegetable Tanned Tooling Leather. Please consult your local upholsterer or the business in which you purchased the item in question."

So, "don't buy the dye from us for autos" is how I take this.
