Tech...Another fine example of a 924! The wheels even look fresh... rare for PD"s...! It would really look sweet with the bumpers set back! Dal

I have also found that a proper alignment, or simply a very percise alignment is needed to prevent the rub. I have 225# springs on the front with Konis sports, set loose and a 968 big 'ol sway bar, and strut brace...
I think my only option is to use a small tire, how do you think a 195series would look on a 16''x7 turbo PD? That was my intention when i bought the PD's, clean then up, and try and solve my tire rub....

If i were you, or if i were doing this over again i would stick with a front wheel that i could put a 195 series tire on. That would rule out 17'' wheels....16'' in tires are readily and cheaply availble in that size....how about some pics of your car??

I was looking into cutting the shocks to push the bumper back...but im not to confident when doing the job. Car was garage kepts for a few years after it was restored due to water damage.

The wheels are a bit ungly upclose at the moment as i just had the tires balanced and have weights stuck on. When i get new tires, ill try and have them only put the weights on the inner wheel.

Techno, Those wheels still do look good though! Were the wheels ever re-sprayed or anything? I have two sets of PD's that im going to be working on over the winter break....the original set and a 951 set...

Erich... My street tires are 195 PD and don't like them at all, looks or otherwise. Consider a 15 205 size...my 2 cents is more rubber is better as long as it doesn't kill HP. So I would go to 15 to gain more width if it worked out that way. I could be wrong but I think a 15" 225 all four is actually the best set up. And remember wheel width can only go 1 inch wider than stock so 8" is the max when it comes to PCA rules if you participate in events.

But yes check the alignment first as that is probably the issue in your case. Dal

The wheels were never resprayed to my knowledge, thats the best wheel out of all 4. One has a small chip near the lug holes, another has had the finish scraped off in a small area, although its hard to notice unless your upclose to it. The centercaps i sprayed and cleaned up myself. No curb rash or anything however. I was originally planning on repainting these to the silvertrim, flat black/gunmetal inside, but decided against possibly and probably destroying a pretty good finish.

Techno... I am getting set to do it this weekend and from what I got out of it from Vince at 924org it is a simple job. Drill into the shock a couple of inches to release the oil then push the bumper back and weld a bit and walla. Read up on it before though! I will post the details here when I get done doing it.

Erich, 195 on those wide rims would be a stretch. Personally from my
experience with sport trucks (NOT LOW RIDER!) 205/50-15 or
205/50-16 I think are the best bet. I'm just trying to track down a set
of rims that looks good on my car. I'm not hung up on Porsche only wheels,
though I'm having trouble finding anything with the right offset. Most the
the nicer looking wheels are geared towards ricers and are 4 lug with
wigger offset. LOL

Also, there is a photo of my car early on in this thread, first page I think.

As for pushing the bumper in...I think the bumper for sure looks better
without the big rubber baby bumpers, but I have mixed feelings about
pushing it in. I'd almost rather just leave it. It kinda looks like it's been
in an accident and needs to be repaired...but at the same time it's got
that flush look of the 951
