Default Cleaning the inside of the valve cover with brake cleaner?

Am I overthinking this? I'd like to use the stuff I use to cut oil/grease, brake cleaner, to clean the inside of the valve cover and the perimeter to prep for the new gasket. However, I'm unsure if even after evaporation, if it leaves anything that would negatively impact and/or break down the oil over time. Not talking about soaking it, just cleaning it up a bit.

Thanks.
