Default FYI - List of parts to upgrade to 968 M030 Specification

Hi folks,

I've listed the parts required to upgrade a base 944S2/951/968 to 968 M030 specification at the following link:

http://www.weissach.net/968_M030-Option.html

If anyone sees an error or omission, please let me know.

Karl.

You've done a super nice job, thanks for sharing! BTW, how many of the M030 upgrades have you fitted on your S2? So far on my 951 I've done factory 17" Cup 1 wheels and front caster mounts. Not sure about these shocks and other upgrades on the cabriolets, though. Are you aware of any changes in the M030 setup for 968 cabrios? Reportedly, they were available with the sport package.

Also, I'm unclear as to the front brakes. IIRC, the 951 Cup, S and 89-91 cars came fitted with the 928 S4 calipers. Are these the same in the M030 package?

Luis, 968 cabs were not available with mo30, it's shown that way on the factory literature. I've read of one cab being equipped with sport springs and sways, but that was a special order car for the owner of a dealership. From my signature you can see that I've done a mild suspension upgrade, it's helped the handling but not added harshness to the ride. I'll report back when I get my new wheels how it feels.

Just out of curiosity, what would the "full-boat" setup you describe here cost? I would think it would be more cost effective (although not M030-spec) to use the KLA rear coil-overs as opposed to new torsion bars though.

Hi Luis & Damian,

Thanks for the feedback. I updated the webpage to clarify the brakes issue. I didn't include any comments about the Turbo Cup cars as my knowledge of those cars is poor (gives me something to research today!).

My S2 is still stock though I have the sway bars and castor mounts in my garage awaiting to be installed.

I probably won't go with M030 struts/shocks because of price and the availability of after market parts (see following link):

Karl.

PS - If you can point me to resources about the Turbo Cup cars, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
