I saw it at at an IMAX theater, visual effects were excellent when watching on a screen thats 50' x 90', story was as expected, but not much else they could do. at the end when Neo was being taken away, it showed the Matrix through his eyes, so we dont really know if he dies.
Someone will make a sequel in a few years, maybe 5 or 6.
It wont be the Wochowskis though and it will probably suck.
Hollywood makes to much money on these movies to walk away.

I got bored the other day and rented the game (Enter the Matrix). Should have played it before I saw the third movie. Gives much insight to what goes on between "Reloaded" and "Revolutions". Can't wait for a boxset to come out, maybe sometime next spring hopefully.

now that i have seen the movie i feel safe opening these threads.. not that i would have lost out on much even if i did read the spoilers.

someone told me that i would see the early black 911 but he apparently overlooked the 996 with the turbo twist wheels in the parking garage.

this is one story that i would rather explore more indepth without hollywood bull**** (detailed searies of books, prequils) but i just dont think the writers have it in them. the concept for the first matrix was either a lucky one time thing for them or they stole it from some homeless guy and couldnt find him for the sequels.

btwsomeone mentioned religous imagery after the smith fight? i definately noticed the light coming from neo starting as a cross but what else did i miss?

The idea for the first matrix came from a movie from the 70's or 80's...nothing really original there...they just made it BIG...

I'll also want a box set of the movies even though I didn't like the 3rd one as much.
BTW, did you guys spot, what I think was, the same gray 944 on the background when they're in the car after getting Neo from the train station?

Dan,

The cross image was the one I was referring to, combined with Neo sacrificing himself to save the world. But then the others are clearly the names - trinity, ship name logos and I think the frenchmen name might have some religious historical significance.

Not sure what Persephone refers to but hey you could call her anything and she would have my attention

Eddie,

I remember vaguely thinking that is how Neo saw the world but it didnt click until you said that. Maybe they will continue this with anime and games?

this was easliy the worst installment of the series. EASILY. it was nothing but a long fight sequence for the cg guys to show off their stuff with.

in my opinion, trinity should have died in the first matrix. damn i hate that character! especially after the 45 minute dance/celebration/make-out segment from the second movie. pointless.

on a better note, that gal that plays persephone is monica bellucci, an italian film star. on an even better note for all of us pervs out here, she can be seen pretty bare in a movie called Irreversible. but beware, this movie is extremely violent and very realistic in it's portrayal of violence. VERY DISTURBINGLY VIOLENT. consider that fair warning to any one that watches it.

Don't forget the guy in the first movie who referred to Neo as his "own personal Jesus Christ". And everybody calls neo their savior.
What does the Logos have to do with religion?

Persephone was the bride of Hades, the Greek god of wealth and the underworld...a fitting name for her character.

Logos - Latin? I think - means word.

"In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God."

From the gospel of John.
