in my experience - a tracked car is more likely to be maintained to a higher level than a casual street car.

A lot higher

A tracked car is also likely to need rod bearings regularly, from what I've heard. No personal experience with the matter.

I drive by Dawydiak at least once a week. If you like I can stop in and take a look at it for you. But I probably won't see anything wrong, because every time I walk in there, every car in the showroom looks nearly perfect. Tracking puts wear on parts of the car that you can't see, sometimes even a PPI won't find it, like cracked firewalls, synchros, etc. Not trying to scare you, just beware.

S2s are good cars. I'd recommend checking out some local 944s first, just to see what they're like, and after a test drive or two maybe you'll know how to assess one better.
