16'' 951 Phone Dials Bent???
Hey guys,
I bought a set of 951 Phone dials(late offset) for my 924S a while back. When i bought them the guy mentioned how a tech. told him that the back wheels couldnt be balacned and the wheels could be bent slightly. Although the ride quality didnt suffer at all he noted...
Well this past weekend i had a shop strip the tires and check out the rims before i refinish them, to my surprise we found a dent in each back wheel. He said they could be from potholes! I was shocked that a 16'' rim could obtain that much damage from pot holes....i thoght that was only a problem for larger wheels. Anyway he recommended a shop that fixes bent wheels. He then went on to say that the wheels can proabley be balanced out they way they are....
So is it common for 16'' phone dials to bend like that? Is it the alloy of Mg/Al that causes this? Who knows anything about how they actually would fix a slight bend....
Thanks!
Eric

One of my front wheels is slightly marred as I found out when having new tires put on. They were able to balance it, however, and no vibration has resulted. I was told that a decent shop could reshape the damage for circa 90 dollars per damaged wheel.

Shoot! i was hoping for like 20/25 bucks a wheel! Well as the tire guy told me this past weekend the wheels can proabley be balanced out, i would just prefer to fix 'em if possible...
Thanks Sach!
