Sunroof won't open when cold? (1984)
I have an early car w/ a sunroof that won't open when it's cold- it gets sluggish, then finally won't move at all once it's down below about 55 outside. I'm assuming this is just because I need to re-grease the lift assembly, but can someone confirm from experience?
I'm of course intending to dump the power assembly in favor of the '83's manual latches, but until then, it'd be nice if things worked for the time being!

Sounds like the lube on so many components of this system has gotten thicker with the temp drop. There's lube in the cable, transmission/clutch, slider on the rail and the gears and lift arms in the overhead. I finally just said s---w it and bought a set of manual latches this week. A place to start, if you're determined to try it, is spray some wd-40 on the slider in the left fender well to see if that frees it up. Also try to help it with pushing on the sunroof while trying to open it. Anything beyond that gets real complicated.
