Default Any difference between ROW and US ECUs?

Simple enough question, can a euro or rest of world ECU unit drop into a U.S. car? I know the specs were slightly different but the Bosch part numbers are the same.

Thanks!

The US cars got lower compression pistons, and the tune is more compliant to US emission standards at the time. We also got O2 sensors whereas ROW and Euro cars did not. So there are differences. You could run it if you were planning on changing the tune anyway.
