WTB - 944/968 wiper motors for parts
Hi all:
I am in the process of rebuilding a group of wiper motors and need spare parts. So, if you have a junk/seized motor, I would like to purchase. Condition unimportant.
please contact me via PM or email at rheidtman@ecc.net
thanks

Eventually, I plan to sell some of these once I get a group completed and get back to the US (currently working in Kabul, Afgh). Currently, I am trying to collect some spares to allow me to move forward when I get back to Vegas on breaks.
I refurbish the motor and it takes a good bit of time as I sand down the case, prime, repaint, install new bearing, new brushes when needed, clean armature/commutator, remove all the rust and other corrosion, clean the inner wheel, grease, reseal to avoid moisture intrusion, etc. Also, a large number have damage to the wiring harness that must be sorted as well.
As for parts, I have not located a source for armatures and expect they would be cost-prohibitive, hence the request for parts. Also, there are no bushings per se, but bearings are available and brushes/springs can be purchased/modified to fit. If the wiper mounting stud is stripped, that part needs replacement and are not individually available.
So, it's easy to see it may require a number of motors to make an operational motor.
I am trying to do this to avoid having to pay upwards of $700 for a new motor, which is ridiculous. And perhaps along the way, can assist some Porsche owners as well.
