Default 944 fuel tank plastic baffle thing sender sits in

I'm trying go figure out why my 944 race car cuts out after hard right turns. This happens when the fuel level goes below 13 gallons. Im about to pull my hair out!!! This is driving me nuts. I've checked an replaced all fuel items (sceen, filter etc) and checked everything like vent lines.

The one thing someone mentioned was the plastic fuel baffle that sits on the bottom of the tank. WHen I pulled the fuel sender and looked in the tank the lid from the sender was off to one side. I also noticed the baffle (thing that looks like a bowl) was not secured. Is this normal? I somehow got the lid centered on the bowl, then inserted the fuel sender. The lid has a hole the same size as the bottom of the sender, so I figured inserted itself into the hole and secured the whole unit. Now im wondering if the sender does not slide into that hole just sits atop. Any guesses
