FS: 1980 924 dismantled
Selling the remains of my first P-car, a 1980 924 with 5 lug suspension and 4 wheel disc brakes.
The car has been outside for the last 8 years and the weather has done a number on it. Engine has been stored inside, along with the transmission, & rear suspension. 200K+ odometer hasn't worked since purchased. Engine did run well, valve stem seals suspected of needing replaced as it blew oily smoke on startup. **The engine mounts have been torched off from the chassis frame rails**
Interior is very rough but some usable parts may exist still.
I dont have the time to list individual parts and would like to sell everything all together as a packaged deal $250 OBO. This will have to be a pickup from the buyer obviously.
Please contact me with any questions you have thank you.

Hate to pollute your topic and dont want to get into a debate here but i must say...its a shame 924s end up in such condition that they sell for $250. Its also too bad you guys value these cars so low.
Cant wait to get my hands on a 924 NA again...i miss those things.

I wish it wasnt in such horrible condition to start with. I bought the car in 08, tuned it up put new rubber on all 4 and daily drove it until I couldnt afford to keep putting oil in it. The PO was a teen she bought it unknowingly of the issues and took a loss on it when she sold it to me. I didnt want a 30 yr project on my hands (CGT clone) so I abandoned the project ship bought a 944 to simplify my then busy life, only to be burdened with even less time on my hands now that I'm a homeowner and married not to say getting married was a bad thing I love my forgiving wife
I just dont want the thing to go to the crusher, as it is worth more to someone else than scrap money to me. I just dont want a lawn ornament anymore if you know what I mean. It is truthfully saddening to me for it to come to this.

So at one point all it needed was valve stem seals
What do you mean dismantled? When you say dismantled i immagine every single part separately but i suspect its not quite that bad. Post some pics of it.
I dont understand whats going on in USA, i'm a home owner since last year as well and instead of selling my 924s i'm looking to buy another one.

It needed more than valve stem seals. The body was rough, had rust, paint needed completely redone, the seats were all torn, dash cracked to all hell. It was a $600 daily driver at that current time that worked for my needs. I'm not happy with my decision with what I did with the car, but there is no turning back now.

Oh well, the more of them die the more value the good ones have so..
I'm surprised it rusted, 80 to 83 included he 924 got the best galvanizing amongst all the years of the 924 and 944 production. Compared to these mid production 924s later cars rust much more, especially late 944s.
