After seeing all the 2X4 holding up engine pictures and conversation, I recalled seeing this on sale . I think it was in the Harbor Freight flyer for like 50% off, but I threw it away so I can't say for sure. Sure beats a hunk of wood and a couple of chains. IMO of course

For people who don't want to bother with building one, that would be a good deal. When I needed one last summer, I just decided to build my own since I didn't want to wait for the delivery of the Harbor Freight one. I made mine out of some 4x4s left over from the deck that I built. I also bought about $15 worth of hardware from Home Depot (2 eye bolts, 2 washers, 2 nuts, and 2 hooks that are rated at 1300 lbs each.) When I had the crossmember off waiting for parts, the engine hoist supported the engine for about month without a problem.
