I have a 87 944 and a 86 951 and they night and day in performance wise. The clutch was way harder then the NA though which i noticed first. When i first test drove the 951 i was so surprised in performance but of course it was modded.

I know 951's are fast but this one was a pig compared to my N/A.

I read on here all the time about various 951s feeling slow. I dont really get it. Mines got nothing more than a chip. No aftermarket exhaust (yet, Im salivating at that Fabspeed but I hate to throw the 951 exhaust out b/c its built like a freakin tank), no bigger turbo, none of that. And my car goes like a friggin banshee. I can hardly shift it fast enough when it lights up. Its fast in the low revs. Fast in the high revs. Fast in every gear. I just mash the pedal and thats all it takes. I fill her up w/ plain old 93 octane at Starvin Marvin. Is there something in my car I dont know about.

You must of been driving an N/A, not a 951.

The -951- can't lose!

I certainly remember the first 944 turbo that I drove, and I sure wasn't dissapointed. Stock or not stock, that car doesn't sound like it was running right. I felt like I got in a school bus when I got back in my somewhat modified 944 after that... The second 944 turbo I drove, which was also stock, was a lot faster than my NA as well. Try another one...

When I first drove my 951 i had a smile on my face for days. Seriously. I had a 944 n/a for about 2 years and got the 951 and what a difference in performance. Especially on the highway. Your going 100 MPH and the car keeps on pulling and pulling like crazy. I love these cars.
