Default 'listers in England?

hey guys, just wondering if there are any listers in the Cambridge area, as I'm going to be staying for a about a year @ Pembroke college @ Oxford. I'm really looking forward to studying there. I'll be without my porsches and the PCA though, so it would be great to hang out with some fellow enthusiasts! may also try and establish myself a little early and get a job for the summer, if anyone knows of any good opportunities in that respect it would be greatly appreciated, too.

Hey FRANKYDOOM

I've seen you're yellow cab round Reading, (I live there too). Your car is very distinctive. I'm in a Gaurds Red 944 Coupe, I'm sure I've waved a few times too. Do you sometimes go to the Porsche meets in Thatcham, by any chance?

Mr Z

My parents live in Cambridge, and unfortunately I couldn't get them to babysit my 944 when I moved to the US.

Are you going to be in Cambridge or Oxford, they are a few hours drive from each other.

There is about 2.5 hours between the two IIRC. Love the Cambridge area. I went to boarding school at Lakenheath (about 30 mins from Cambridge). Would move back in a heart beat if a position came open. I think the only place I liked more was Harrogate. I used to date a terrific girl from there. We used to walk the stray into town....ahhhhhh memories.

hi porklover - small world - lol

Never heard of the meeting in Thatcham before ...... yeah my car is very distinctive used to be a 1982 944 n/a - got converted to a cab. Most parts are from an S2 - front, interior, brakes, heated leather seats - oval dashboard and stuff .... ...... apart from the engine 2.5 - 1986 engine M44/05 in there :-( - gonna need my roof done badly but the local guy wants £800 plus VAT .... just before xmas ......

FRANKYDOOM - who's your local, I use Northway - they are pretty good. Labour is £35 an hour, but they are porsche specilalists, not roof specialists.

Matt H - The f*cked up thing is I have a girlfriend in Harrogate - bizzare.

Ryan Z - Oxford is pretty close to Reading - if you need a fix when you are there, just drop me a mail.

James

I use Northway as well - superb service - just got a set of design 90 wheels with rubber for £200 - after i hit 2 concrete bollards avoiding a damn scooter swerving all over the place. i didnt call the police as you know Reading coppers are not the best ..... so no point

also i know of another red 944 2.7 in Reading (Leigh Cromwell) and a red 951 - never see many on the road so

porklover - that is cool. Do you go there often? I would love some pics to show my wife. I was never into pics when I was going there. I would love to see the stray and the back of the "mall" by the train station.

Matt H -

You're in luck - I own a digital camera. The next time I go up I'll take some pics and mail them for your wife to see. Don't tell her about the girlfriend I guess.

Frankydom - That's a fatastic price, I agree, they are awesome! What do these wheels look like?

There are the standard wheels on a s2 (not allowed to post pics here lol) maybe somebody can - great condition and the rubber last for another 10000 miles - got 245/40/ 16 rear and 225/50/16 front ...... strangely enuff roy northway knew my car already when i booked it in for the timming belt job - that is after 2 month importing it from holland.... word spreads lol
