I don't know, it just seems silly to just let the coolant temperature reach 216 degrees before the high speed takes over to save the resistors.

One idea is get a 82 Celsius fan switch from the early cars and be done with the two speed setup. You still have low speed when the ignition is off. This would be the same way the early cars operate.

The flex a lite setup that Tempest
411 suggested looks the best solution for those not concern with originality.
