Outcome of yesterday's no start...
I tried attaching some pictures for your viewing but they are too large and I don't have software to resize. If someone can help me out, I can email the pics to you and maybe we can get them posted.
I've been reading the previous thread I started and seems to have sparked some serious conversation. Skip relayed the correct information. Chain got caught up in faulty (old) top pad, broke the chain, broke a piece of the head where the bottom tensioner bolt goes in, broke some teeth on both camshafts. Man, this sucks! SoCal, the funny thing is that I was getting my parts together to change that top pad. After reviewing the paperwork on the last timing belt change completed by the PO mechanic, I notice no mention of any chain or tensioner maintenance.
I guess it's a good thing it didn't let go while I was driving...Any thoughts on bent valves? I'm hoping not since it broke while I was trying to start the car after having turned it off.
Just wanted to say thanks again for all of you guys' support and knowledge. Special thanks to Skip for putting up with me today. Little by little I am learning the intricacies of these awesome cars. Although sometimes the hard way.

well, at least you know whats wrong. thats the first step to having that big smile on your face again... Good luck, I hope for you that its not a bent valve! good luck!

Everybody has Microsoft Paint, well most people.
Open the software, go to Image, then Sketch/Skew. Type in about 30% to 40% for Horizontal and Vertical Stretch. Don't worry about Skew.
That should bring you down in size.

Damn, that sucks... Well when you get the parts together, if you want some help putting everything together just give the word. I'm mechanically adept and have nothing but free time on my hands. My knowledge of cars just isn't very good (I'm a motorcycle guy ~ factory trained), so troubleshooting isn't my forte.

Is there any way to repair that head, or are you in the market for a new head?

aribop, wow that sucks bro. but just aslong as you know how to work on your car, and you can pretty much fix this in your garage than you have nothing to sweat about. this is something that scares me because im not great when it comes down to fixing cars.
