Default Oil Pan Baffle--Will later baffle fit an early pan?

Hi,

I posted this same question in the 944 & 944S2 but not too many people in that forum so forgive the double post.

I'm trying to find out if the later oil pan baffle from 87 and later cars (# 944 107 389 02) will fit in an early oil pan # 944 107 201 6R. My pan has baffle #944 107 389 01 which is NLA. I've been told that the newer baffle from S2's (#944 107 389 03) will fit my pan and that same baffle will fit the later pan that 944 107 389 02 is made for so I'm assuming they are all interchangeable....but of course nothing is ever that simple...

So please let me know if anyone has any experience or knowledge with this as I need to get this car back together. Oh, car is an 86 951.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the baffles are the same. They're a bitch to get out - screws are loctited.

Mine came out fairly easily; but those hex bolts are shallow so it's easy to strip them.

Ok, apparently they are all interchangeable as Porsche has stopped selling 01 and 02 so now 03 is the only one available.

I'll update when I get it to confirm ....

Use heat to break down the thread locker. Always. A plumber's torch is your friend. Good luck!
