Hello all,
I undertook this very task today. That is, I replaced my spark-leaking wires with new ones while reusing the ends. I had not delved into the plug wires until today and I'm very impressed with the quality of those Beru ends. It is a shame to replace the whole assembly when you only need the actual conductors. Besides that, I am a real cheap bastard when it comes to paying for car stuff. The total came out to $4.20 for the wire and $0.99 for some brass rod. It took a little doing but overall, I'd say its one of the easiest jobs to do for the average owner.
I took pictures and would gladly write up the procedure I used if someone can point me to where I can post it.
Cheers.

I use the BERU ends. Made some crimpers out of old connector crimpers. Dremel tool and a little creative grinding. If the wires are not threaded in they will eventually pull out sooner than later.
