Question Kumho Ecsta KH-11's What yall think?

Well it's about tire time. Tread worn out, dry rot cracking and now both front tires have picked up screws, one plugged other not sure if it went thru or not. Doing alot of research and pricing, the Kumho Ecsta KH-11's look pretty good, Tire rack feedback mostly positive, and for the price don't look like I can go wrong. Local Tire's Plus store quoted me $60 each. Was looking at Bridgestone RE-950's but they are $100 each. Also the Kumho's
are in 225-60VR15. Wish I had 16 or 17 in wheels but just bought a house so funds for toys are limited. Any thoughts out there or any other suggestions?

much appreciated,
Bill

My PO put some of those tires on the rear of my 951. I haven't gotten to aggressively drive another 951 with different tires on it, so I can't comment on how they compare to other tires yet on my car. I can say however that they seem to be very progressive with breakaway and easy to read, haven't made much if any squealing while cornering, and have been wearing pretty good so far. I managed to keep up with a 996 Carrera 4 and a 79 modded 930 over the weekend with the local PCA driving over into NC, so I guess they do pretty well....hehe

I have some Ventus tire designed in Italy on the front, supposed to be the same company that makes the F3000 tires, so I can't comment on the front. He just bought whatever was inexpensive since he was about to sell it.

I have not driven the KH-11's, but for the money they are an excellent tire. I have several friends that have them on their cars and are very happy. They are not all out performance, but still very capeable.

I have the Ecsta Supra 712's on my car and while they took a little longer to scrub in than I would have thought they are a good value...Seemingly good sidewall stiffness without super harsh ride. I'd get another set, though I put them on my cae IMMEDIATELY so I have nothing to compare to...
