I tried to fix bad solder on my circuit board which caused it to accelerate only when I tried to set the cruise. Pull the board and have a look at the solder. It is definatly possable to fix it (I was impatient and used to big of a solder gun)

^^^ I tried this fix. Easy to do but it didn't work in my case. I just swapped the control unit with other good one and enjoy fully functional cruise control. I'm still interested in fixing it anyway...

What where the symptoms of the CC failure this fix adresses? My 968 CC failed last week on the highway, just finished resetting after braking, felt a "thunk" as it stopped working and now it won't work. Checked the rear brake lights (all three work) as that can be a cause. Would like find a way to troubleshoot which component it is before swapping stuff.
