Unhappy LORD I miss my 951...

Hey,

As y'all know I sold Sparky 2 weeks ago. I have this problem now: my subconscious still thinks I have the car and plays mean tricks on me. Like:

I go to check the weather on the web when I get up in the morning. If the forecast is for good weather, I catch myself thinking: 'I should drive the Porsche to work!" Then I remember. No Porsche.

Or one of the kids asks if they can put their bike in the garage. And I start to say: "No, let me put it in there so the car doesn't get scratched." Then I remember there isn't a car there. No Porsche.

Or I come across some little part and think I need to "put this thing away safe because I'll need it." Then I remember I won't need it. No Porsche.

Porsche withdrawal: it sucks.

What's in the way of getting a proper car then (read: Porsche)?

Thaddeus, Ryan is coming over tomorrow at 10 am to pick up his deadlight cell upgrade. Stop on over and we can all go to lunch after replacing his bulbs and doing the wiring.

I am having the same issues since I wrote it off, parting it out has been painful, it's now a mear shell and I miss that feeling.
The feeling that that car fit me like a glove and It was fast, safe, connected to the road.
That feeling of getting up early just to go out on quiet roads and drive.
I know how you feel.
It's only a car! thats what I keep telling myself, even though I know thats not true.

Hell, man, get yourself a cheap NA car or something - hell, get a 924. There's such a buyer's market out there right now you've got to be able to find something within any budget you might have...Al

I had the same thing when I sold my 88.
Temporary cure: Add up all your old receipts--scared straight!
Real cure: Buy another one!

We have serious problems ;-)

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, IceShark, just got back from camping at Afton. Thanks for the offer though!

Got a little chilly last night... I need a better sleeping bag! Stiff!

2 weeks ago yesterday the 'S went to her new home. So I know exactly how you feel. Been hanging around here, trying to keep from going cold turkey. When doing my daily pick up truck search, I usually end up looking at the 944 section as well. You never know when that to good to be true deal might pop up!

I sold the car because I needed shop space for sculpting. I moved to a house with a 1-car garage last year, and owned 3 cars. Now I have a studio and 2 cars... But I will own a Porsche again sometime.

I don't feel bad that I don't drive my 924s because I never really liked the feel and style of it. I like the 944/951 style with the flared fenders and what not. The 924s seemed like the girly version of the car. I know alot of people disagree, but thats how I felt.
