I am trying to find out whether or not I have my stock driveline i.e. from the transmission back.

My car seems to have steeper gears from reading what others posting their RPM at a certian MPH.

My car runs about 3200RPM at 70MPH.

Is this about right for a stock 88 N/A?

John ; get the first two letters off the top of the trans casing. they are on the top of the bigger part of the trans housing right where it connects to the torque tube flange . you may need a mirror to do this and they are almost always covered with gunk. Post it and I will tell you what you have.

3,200 rpm at 70 mph sounds about right for a 1988 or 1989 NA. The earlier US cars got a very tall "fuel economy" 5th gear. In 1988, the US cars received the ROW 5th gear.
