Smaller brake boosters - let's talk
Looking to make a little room in the bay and have been researching a bit on smaller diameter brake boosters. I'm curious if anyone here has experience with trying this out... I imagine yes, but hoping to hear first hand experiences.
Option 1:
Universal 7" PB7001 brake booster. These can be had for about $50, brand new.
Option 2:
VW Vanagon 9" brake booster. Also can be found relatively cheap.
Option 3:
'75-'76 VW Rabbit brake booster. Harder to find, 171-612-107H.
Anyone? I'm tempted to try the universal.

AFAIK, no one has found a vacuum booster that would work with the V8. The options are hydroboost or manual brakes with either a tandem or dual master cylinders.
I thought the GM metro booster would work at one time, it was the smallest I found. It might work for your intentions.
