Default Great shifter??????

I HATE MY STOCK SHIFTER!!! I want to buy an aftermarket shifter (hopefully a shorter height and throw) that is a bolt in with out many hours spent doing so. I was wondering if everyone could post a picture of thier shifter and give a little description and write-up on it. Also, where you got it from, I really don't know anywhere to get one except 9xauto.com so ANY advice would be great. THanks

Go to the 944 Turbo section and do a search on short shift, there was a recent DIY short shifter mod that quite a bit of good info was posted on. Cheap and quick, great results.

You can check out the Speed Force Racing short shifter. It shortenes the shift and allows you to use an aftermarket ****(like Momo) that slips on to a round rod. Check the website: http://www.speedforceracing.com/

I have a Dave Harrington- looks like the Lindsey only silver- adjustable at top & bottom- onlky cost $75 vs Lindsey $175- I don't think Dave makes them anymore- the only prob is the DAMN VIBRATIONS- it gets a little noisy at some rpms- I can't understand why either, as I have really wrapped it up w/Dynamat, etc- I thought I had it handled, but, evidently not, as it started again the other day- I think Turbo Tims may be the way to go as it just uses the stock shifter- mine never had any vibrations until this- starting to wonder if it's the design- the stock has the lever for the trans to connect to just one bar coming off one lever- the aftermarkets have this bar b/t two levers that run up & come together- not sure if vibrations are able to flow THROUGH better b/c of this or not(?). Anyway, based on the amounts of probs I've heard about these others, I'd do the SFR one- it's cheaper than most others too...OR, now that I just read the other thread, I MIGHT try it myself- I might anyway, even though I have the Dave Harrington- I've GOT to get rid of these vibrations & the factory lever never had them...

The results of the other thread's mods are the same as SFR's shifter for no more cost...
