The factory alarm with blinking LED's appears to blink the LED's when you are in the car and driving and use the console mounted switch to lock the doors.

I have picked up two used blinking LED ***** for the 944 - again from Porschapart.com and they work perfectly. Door panel removal is required to install them.

I also noticed that the voltage sent to the LED "box" is 12 volts - so maybe it's easy to "steal" power from elsewhere in the door (would have to be a constant source - not ignition dependent) and just install these lighted *****. Even if they flash ALL THE TIME - does it matter? It'll appear that your alarm is always on - and how's that a bad thing?

I got a digital camara yesterday - I'll get pics of these parts up later today.

RK

PS. I think I now have a fully funtioning factory alarm in my S2!

I'd rather have them only be on when I'm out & away from the car- think it might get annoying inside THE car, but I could deal w/it- I just came to the conclusion that it would probably be a simpler install to just wire to a direct switch & just remember to hit it when needed...

BTW- do the regular 944 lock diodes have a little rectangular box w/plug-in end on it, wired to them, like the 968?

Thanks

My S2's door lock buttons have that rectangular box.

There appear to ber two types - one for the S2 and Turbos (late model - 90 and 91??) and then for the 968's which are longer.

This is a pic of a 944 S2 version - WITHOUT the conencting rod. I think it's the rod that's actually a dif length.

The LED ***** just screw off the top - so you could buy either and screw the LED **** top onto your exiting rods if needed.

Yeah, this is exactly that I'm saying- the 968 ones are 1/4" longer- the threads are further up inside too, so it ends up being ~1/2" taler, total...
