Dave, as far as I know, the cat isn't illegal. The rules I'm referring to state:
1 The engine must be as delivered from the factory. NO modifications after the air filter and before the exhaust port are allowed.
2 Any after market exhaust system may be used. The system must meet the noise restrictions noted in the "Generals".
To me, these say any modification after the exhaust ports is legal as long as it meets the noise requirements(which tend to be very lenient). Am I missing something?

You do OK with a little more in the back than in the front, some of the numbers I found in the archives are equal all around, I figure even all around should be good. No? Maybe -2 front, -1.9 rear? -1.8? More input needed.
Ken, You may be correct there, I remembered it as any cat-back was OK but stock manifold and cat. Wasn't Al P. in I1 due to a header?

I run -3.5 front and -2.5 rear on my 944-spec car.
I'd run .5 to 1 deg less negative in the rear as you realy don't need it. You do in the front. too much rear negative can add understeer.

Well, I don't have time before the weekend to get my butt to Eurotire so I had it aligned locally (no corner weights) and I'm glad I did.
I thought the car was overdue and it had only been done to stock specs before, now that I've seen the "before numbers" I can't believe I didn't lose it in a ditch somewhere.
Stock is
front/ -.33 camber/2.5 caster/.08 toe/rear/-1 camber/.08 toe
Before was
front left/+.1 camber/2.1 caster/.41 toe/rear/-.9 camber/.1 toe
front right/-.6 camber/2.0 caster/.35 toe/rear/-1.0 camber/.06 toe
NOW!
front/-2.0 camber/2.7 caster/.06 toe/rear/-1.1 camber/.06 toe
I picked these numbers as a jumping off point, next season I'll have it corner ballanced and I can change it then. In the meantime, I'm impressed, The car sticks to the road like the smile to my face!!! In the 4 miles home, 50 degrees out and the trip wasn't long enough to get any heat in the tires, I was just amazed how well the car handled. The new cat was sounding great too so I never got around to turning on the stereo.
You Zone 1 guys are in trouble, this is 2 seconds, easy!
