Default Airbag Question

I have owned a couple dozen air cooled 911's over the last two decades. I currently have an 88 targa non airbag car. My 9 year old can ride in the front seat.

I have looked at a few 944's as I want to pick one up to daily drive. My question is this:

On the cars with airbags, how difficult is it to disarm them so my son can ride in the car? He's not going to fit in the back?

Thanks in advance.

How tall is he? I would think he'd fit in the back until about 5 feet tall.

If he's big enough to not fit in the back, then he's the right size for an air bag in the front.

You're only not supposed to use an air bag with a rear facing baby seat or a toddler seat. I know if I called my 9-year-old a toddler, he'd kick my ***!

Disarming the passenger airbag isn't something you can do in a couple of minutes.

How tall is your son? If he doesn't ride in a child safety seat, you don't need to disable the airbag.

The airbag question has more to do with weight rather than height, especially for these early single-stage airbags. I would think if you scoot the front seat all the back it would still be reasonably safe. He can sit on a booster if he can't see out when all the way back.
