Default Minnesota 944's

I would like to take a poll to see how many Minnesota 944 there are on this board? I would then like to suggest we have a ride or gathering?
Anyone interested?

Sure, '88 944TS. I'm up for it but a little late for this season. We are going to have snow sticking on the ground in a few weeks and I don't have snows for tires! But I'm in MSP area, and game.

Could be fun, if I can get away from my homework!! I'm at St. Olaf so I'm very close to Lakeville, my car is either here or at home in Minnetonka. It's an early 85, guards red. I second the winter thing, done that too much, my car is getting garaged all winter. BTW, Dan, did you get my last email?

No, I didn't Ryan. Several other people noted they got bounced by MSN email to me in the last month, including my Dad.

I have your bulbs and sockets laying around here in a box. You want me to mail them to your Dad, (assume that is where you are storing car)? That shipping should only cost a few bucks. Otherwise I may raid your supply for some other guys.

I live in Duluth, would love to get together with some other 944's next summer. I expect I won't have too many days left before I park my car and get ready to recheck my belt tension. I have some winter projects (SFR catback, fix the sunroof, CV joints...) and hope to get more miles on next summer. I don't think I put on much over 1000 miles so far this summer, I had hoped to drive my 951 more than I actually did.

Arne.

Hey Dan! I sent you an email, but in case you don't get it, I am in the cities on a weekly basis and I can come pick them up this weekend if that works, sorry to take so long I didn't know they were in yet. Looks like this weekend is tailight painting time! Oh, and right now the car is with me
Thanks!!

Hey Guys,
I love the response! We should form a local sub-chapter? I would like to get tech gatherings going next summer or winter if anyone has a heated garage. I have a 3 stall that we could heat .This way we could help each other do some of the large projects such as motor mounts or exhausts?I see this happening in other states and think it would be great to share the knowledge and wrenching.
Comments are encouraged and welcomed.

Are you guys involved with PCA at all? Local chapter is pretty active in the twin cities: social events, tech events at local shops, track events at BIR, autocross at St Cloud, concours in Afton, rallys, wknds along the north shore, email lists, etc.

Definitely pursue putting together the local rennlist chapter, but if you end up in need of additional help and insight while working on the cars, the PCA/Nord Stern crowd is a way to get access to a lot of experienced guys when it comes to car prep, maint, and self-wrenching. There are a lot of fast 944s in the area.
