Default Clutch Hydraulics

2 quick question folks

a) The clutch fluid hose from the resevoir to the master cylinder - any idea on alternative suppliers or what specs it is. I could get it from Paragon, but I left it off the last order so was wondering if I could find it anywhere locally? Any clues?

b) Is the clutch return spring hard to find? My mechanic couldn't see where it should be.

Thanks

Martin

You can get the OEM "blue hose" from your local dealer, or you can get "regular" rubber brake line hose from a "generic" parts house. This line is not under any pressure, so just about any brake fluid compatible hose will work.

The "clutch return spring" is the pressure plate. However, there is a spring on the clutch peddle linkage under the dash that can be adjusted to alter how much pressure is required to operate the clutch.

Here is a diagram of the mess under the dash.

Thanks for the info guys,

I found the Pelican Parts pic and passed it to my mechanic, i don't think he looked enough.

Hose - I ended up ordering it from Paragon, the dealer wanted $33 and 4/5 days to get it in. Paragon could get it in for $3 and can USPS it to me in less time. I would have still saved money if I had paid $27 to UPS it.

Quick search of the local parts places didn't yield anything.

Thanks for the info

Martin

For those that have looked at the Pelican parts pictures: I have access to the same Porsche binder and will be scanning that very soon. Would include the index and part numbers to the illustrations.
