Default Stereo Question

Alright, this is on top of the original deck, and since the wires have been cut, i've been poking them with the multimeter for the past 3 hours. I can't figure out the 3rd teminal from the left. Very left is ground, then 12V - Ignition, the next one I can't figure out, and the last one is 12V permanent power.

What's the _/ _ Symbol mean? Also, for the speakers, which is positive and which is negative? (connection on deck)

switched 12v is the first thing that comes to my mind. If you look at the speaker part, the symbols sort of resemble (+) and (-) signs.

AFAIK, switched 12v means that you get 12v when the key is turned.

Looks like it closes the circuit in a relay for something,,power antenna or antenna booster maybe.

The symbol __/ __ means a switch. Not sure what it means on the stereo though...

Is there any speaker wire left? Usually the negative line has a stripe on it.
As long as they're all hooked up the same way, it shouldn't hurt anything. If you hook up some one way and others the other way, they'll be 180degrees out of phase, and they'll cancel each other out.

Alright, i hooked up all the power stuff EXCEPT that terminal, and everything works, I think mark said it correctly, most likely an antena booster. Thanks for all your replies, time to go solder on my speaker terminals. Yay! happy!

I just checked the FSM and the diagram for the 87 924S has a similar plug and that pin corresponds to the antenna amplifier like Mark said. All the other pins are the same.

led / anyone else know where that 924s antenna amplifier is located?

Just curious - when I got my car, the radio had been stolen.

it's a small wire branching off of the main antena wire.
