Default 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo for sale. $7500

What do you guys think of this?
Is this a good deal or priced at market?

http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/cto/5457352198.html

Up for your consideration is 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo (951) in color combo Black/Black leather. I've owned it since 2007 and purchased it with 134,700 miles. It is well maintained and nice cosmetically, but realize it is a driven, thirty year old car.

Maintenance completed since ownership:
-water pump, radiator and all cooling system hoses replaced, coolant replaced
-replaced head gasket, balance shaft seals
-timing belt, balance shaft belt, a/c and power steering belts replaced
-power steering pump, fluid and tie rods
-front and rear brake rotors, pads, and lines replaced, fresh super blue racing fluid
-new shocks and struts, lower control arms and ball joints
-new clutch and throw out bearing
-new Continental Conti Pro Contact 16' tires on staggered 7/8 inch front and rear near perfect phone dials
-front wheel bearings
-plugs, Magnecor wires, cap, rotor replaced
-all new vacuum lines
-fuel pump, fuel lines replaced, injectors resealed
-replaced windshield
-new alternator, battery
-new speed and reference sensors
-H4 euro headlights
-new cat back exhaust and all exhaust gaskets replaced
-Momo sport steering wheel, Porsche floor mats, hatch mat

Many other repairs I've forgotten.....

Everything except the air conditioning is operable.

Some very minor dings (3), scratches and stone chips that should be expected of a 30 year old car. I did have the ground effects, front bumper cover, nose and hood professionally resprayed in 2008.

Interior is near perfect except for two small cracks on the dash in the vicinity of the defroster vents, both less than 1/2 inch in length.

Comes with a large box of spares for the next owner. And an extra hatch glass.

$7500 OBO,

Well, when some of those service items were performed makes a huge difference. There's almost a 10 year window he has made. But yes, that actually looks like a thousand or three low...but that's for California. And yes, LSD, good one 911Inv87.

Why does he say it had 134K when he purchased it? edit: says 142K in the pictures.
"Many other repairs I have forgotten." Ok then, there aren't any receipts?

I'd also ask him about those seats. Driver is in great shape considering mileage.
Test drive this one for sure.

Good on ya. I'd definitely follow up on the belts (date/miles).

Yeah, I had a PPI done at Lynmor motorsports.

It needs motor mounts, ball joints, tires, CVs. All easy enough.

The interior is minty all over. Really nice. As nice as my previous 70k mile example.

Will up date all when I get it home.

I am no stranger to these. Having owned 3 951s previously. And raced 944 SPEC for several years.

Some old timers on the forum may remember when my Gold with Gold fuchs 951 got stole in Colorado. And then months later I found the wheels for sale on c-list and that helped police find the people.

Good to be back to the fold.

It's not.

But...the 04 Cooper S I will soon be selling is a slick top. Which is almost as rare as a 44/51 with no sunroof. At least in the USA.

^Dang, you just made me check Craigslist for some bike stolen a while ago.

Anyway, Nice job!! That's a car that will definitely hold its money. I wonder what it could have sold for with more time. And I guess it's the miles that takes its value down but looks like a very nice one. Coud it go for 12 grand in california? Maybe...
How does it drive? Congrats!
And, how did he keep the driver seat like that after almost 150k miles??? What are you going to do about that air filter?

Yeah, the 'Hot Air Intake" will be replaced with stock.

Def. the miles take value down.

Did you find it because of this thread??
At $7500, was this merely a decent deal, or was it the deal of a lifetime ?

No. I saw it on CL the day it posted. I have been looking to buy for over a month.

The price I paid is fair. Not a 'deal' or over pay.

Congrats and good luck. Seems like a much better buy than a $3500 944
