When i was taking off the cam tower some of the lifters fell out and i don't know the order anymore. Is there any way i can reuse them? if not how much are new ones? any help would be great.

Thanks,

New ones are something like $50 each, you can reuse the old ones. Although it is better to install them in the same order, mixing them up isn't a big problem, the hydraulics lifters will adjust automatically to the correct height.

You can check the lifters for proper functioning, if the lifter piston can be pushed down with relative ease, they are not functioning properly and should be replaced.

Good luck!

do not mix up the lifters.

Yes...they can be mixed up and swapped with out problems.

But...you will experience increased cam lobe and lifter wear until the lifters and camlobes "re-machine" themselves to match their new "partners".

You ain't gonna damage anything but you will reduce the remaining life the lifters and cam has. Exactly how much loss you will experience is uncertain.

I have taken apart over 30 different stock engines and have never seen a worn out cam or lifter face. These things are bulletproof unlike chevy lifters. After 250k miles, the lifter face is still very flat. Porsche made these things to last and not to rev.
