Default Leaking Battery Tray

Anybody have any ideas how to repair a leaking battery tray? Water comes off thei windshield, drips into the tray and leaks into the car instead of draining like it should? All opinions are appreciated as I just bought the car and there are a lot of little things wrong.

Thanks

The most permanent soulution is to fiberglass it. Buy a kit at walmart or pep boys. Get the one with some glass mat and the resin. Clean it real well and go to it. After it dries, paint it black, get a battery mat and put it all back together.

Trying to patch it here and there will not work. Some have use roofing tar and all kind of other things. I'm sure different ideas will be posted.

Fiberglass is what worked for me. I am not a fiberglass expert. This was my first attempt at it, as a matter of fact. It turned out very good.

Good luck

Thanks. Sounds like a good idea. Is this a kit especially for battery trays?

You could also just scrape out the rust holes and epoxy it. Its just about the same as fiberglassing it but a little less involved. If its a large hole I would just go ahead and fiberglass though.
