Default Brake booster change on a RHD 968

Anyone changed the brake booster on a 968? Already dreading getting at the bolts that secure it up behind the dash, but clearances between the booster and engine seem quite tight. Will it come out without having to take half the engine out (it wouldn't be a Porsche unless you had to do that I guess). Thanks

Save yourself man and head down to the local pub and grab a brew. Im sure theres someone here that is familiar with it shoot some pics of the engine compartment and that ought to at least give the natives some insight to make suggestions. How old are you If you are young and lean climbing under the dash of a shoe skate is easy. I did the other day and felt it for a few days. Getting older but cant complain!

It may be too obvious but I have had good luck using Google and saying "How do I (fill in the blank) on a Porsche 968". It looks across multiple forums.

I will say that trying to do this one time on a 85 944, getting the little retaining clip off that connects the shaft of the booster to the brake pedal totally defeated me.

The one thing working in my favour is the booster is on the left hand (passenger) side. Looks like they just kept the fitment of the booster/master standard regardless of LHD or RHD. Hopefully removing the glove compartment etc will give better access but yeah...maybe I'll just disappear down the rabbit hole and see what happens.

I recently did it on my 2011 Jaguar XJ after braking performance decreased drastically. Was full of rusty water but yeah being 46 and owning a 928 I'm used to having to get into weird contorted poses to fix stuff. And yes you're right...keeping plenty of cold beers in the fridge is a must!

Wow, I'm confused. Your car is RHD(?) but the booster is on the LH side? On my LHD cars, the brake pedal lever pushes a rod into the middle of the booster, through the firewall. How does this occur if the pedal in on the RH side and the booster is on the LH side?

Yes...it's whats called a remote linkage through to the brake pedal
