Default OT: Other Activities

I was wondering what sort of other activities some of you board lurkers enjoy, besides of course driving, racing or working on porsches. (or other cars). You know things like football, hiking, rock climbing, cycling, or maybe something more exotic like polo or rugby or perhaps a less athletic activity - chess for instance.

Just thought we can get to know each other better this way.

btw I fence, and by that I don't mean I raise white picket fences for $6 an hour. Fencing as in the amateur sport with fake swords. Its fun and challenging and you don't have to give it up when you grow old and grey.

Rugby is too hardcore for me, but its fun to watch hehe. Shooting for work.. I'm guessing you're in the military or law enforcement then, right?

I am a retired bicycle racer that now rides for recreation (occasionally). I like to hike as well (seem to do that more often anymore).

Sometimes I can be caught building a 1/24th or 1/43rd scale Porsche model..

What? There is something to do besides racing/driving/working on/staring at my Porsche? Please! Next thing ya know, you'll be trying to convince me the world is round. (Which of course is true in Nascar, but we all know it's a twisty bit of asphalt.)

Ski (water and snow) I also like to shoot when time allows but with a 3 year old and a 4 month old hobbies are a thing of the past.

Billy W,

I agree........ what hobbies. I watch my kids play baseball and basketball. On occassion my wife and I can steal away for an adult dinner. (Anyplace that does NOT serve chicken fingers!!!) I haven't even seen a new release movie in over a year. God I'm old.

On the bright side, I take a very twisty road to/from work!! (Unfortunately, I now know most of Alpharetta's finest.)

Streckfu's,

You should trade recipes with my roommate.. he brews.. As a matter of fact.. I need to call him and get him going for the season!

He is a member of the Beer Advocate website and would probably also want to swap some local brews.

As for my activities.. I play Golf, Basketball, Tennis, Skateboard, and I am a musician in a local Maine band.

Hard one.....

driving up to the store to get parts, thinking about the next project, crying over the stuff I need and can't afford... you know, the usual.

well, football, ultimate frisby, computer stuff, and all that come in there somewhere too.

Farming - Yes I said farming. Right now we're building a house on our 18 acre farm in central Texas. And I'm not talking about hiring some joe blow to build it. I'm talking cut the wood, pound the nails, and sweat the details. By the way, we just got our DBA for the farm - how's Carrera Farms sound.
