Question Motronic ML1.1 Diagram ????

I have looked in the workshop manual, in haynes, at frwikl.com, searched google and yahoo, browsed through every website i know also some BMW sites.

But i cannot find a Diagram for the MOTRONIC ML 1.1 that's in my car.

FrWilk has a ML3.1 diagram but it ogf no use.

I like to find out if there's wiring and connection for a O2 sensor (yes my '84 does not have one), and for error readout like in the BMW's and later 944's check engine light.

Anyone has a diagram and a scanner ???

I don't Know about the 944, but the 85 911 Euro did not have a O2 sensor. On a 911 there was a coding plug under the driver seat that was also different. the two went hand in hand. The plug sent power or ground, I can't remember, to the O2 sensor or dumped it back into the DME if it didn't have the O2.

Hmmm..

Jim, there'snot any "hidden wires" under my seat's i know since i replaced all the carpet this spring, and had all interiour out off the car. There is a plug by the radio (i think for at tempomat) 7 pole, leading to the engine compartment by the battery, but not connected.

I read on some swedish Volvo site aout the early ML 1.1 DME that there at least in volvo application should be a O2 sensor connection on tne DME, but not hooked up to anything. I wonder if it's the same for the 944 DME (Motronic ML 1.1)

The early DMEs do not have any sort of error storage or read out.

As for the o2 sensor connection, look for a round single wire connector near the centerline of the fire wall. Power for a 3 wire heated sensor comes from a two-wire male/female "bullet" style connector, which should be in roughly the same place as the O2 connector.

I don't se any connection's int the firewall area for a O2 sensor. Remember the early Euro had no Catalytic converter, and is not supposed to have one. The US version has the CAT, and uses the Motronoc ML 1.2 and not ML 1.1. So there could be a difference in the DME, not only related to compression difference, but also a CAT va. no CAT design.

But as i said some Volvo guy on

http://www.ludd.luth.se/~rotax/motronic/motronic.html

says that pin 24 is the O2 sensor but not used in the volvo, and maybe it is the same for the 944 Euro.

OK: Why do i want this ???

If i have this O2 wiring, i could hook up some switches and potentionmeters, and use this for adjusting the Mixture REAL TIME. Going 14.7 on long trips, and tweak it a little for FUN.
