Default Nose Panel Removal

Yes I know there has been many threads on replacing nose panels, I have not seen one that has helped me, so far.

I have a 84 944 and the nose panel is spot welded on. I have drilled out the top welds and basically everything I can see, but it still is not coming off.

Do I need to take off the bumper and lower valiance to get to the other welds? I am about the use a cutter and rip the thing right off (Obviously I am replacing the one I have, since I have already ruined this one)

Any help or suggestions?.....?

I think the early cars has the same nose panel as the 924, and its spot welded along the front edge above the bumper, meaning YES you have to remove the front bumper, and drill the upwards through teh welds. I did this on my previous 924.

Eastwood Products (do a web search, lots of sources) makes a good spot weld drill bit. Plenty of other brands out there. Or, while a little more labor intensive, you can use a regular hardened steel-cutting bit (titanium, etc)
