Default Sway Bar Bushing replacement issues

So I went about the supposedly easy task (not) of replacing my sway bar bushings but ran into an issue. The bottom side has aluminum that surrounds the bolt head and the aluminum was brittle, so the aluminum broke. This resulted in a free spinning bolt that I couldn't put a tool on to hold stationary. I created a cowboy solution which is in the video below, but I still have to do the other side. I want to know if anyone has a better trick. Let me know fellas!

Thanks!

I think you handle it as well as you could. I'm not sure if you compromised the strength of the bracket, so you should probably replace it.

Yep I was thinking the same thing. I've driven it a few times and it seems fine, but I'm going to keep a close eye on it. Thanks man

I just replaced my inner bushings but didn't notice that aluminum piece? Never seen it before. Looks like you solved the problem just fine.

I would upgrade to 86 944 aluminum lower control arms and upgrade the drop link for the sway bar.
