Does anyone know if it can be done and a rough idea of the price of chroming Phone Dial wheels? And has anyone here chromed anything before and know the process that’s involved?

It can certainly be done. The big cost is getting the underlying metal polished up perfect prior to the plating process. Ever wonder why plating shops employ so many illegals? That polishing takes a long time.

So the cost will depend on what shape your wheels are in and how much prep work they have to do. The plating process itself isn't all that expensive.

 

Gotta worry about hydrogen embrittlement through the chroming process as well, though I've only seen one or 2 failures of chromed rims.

Yeah, Sam is right. Though there are methods to minimize the embrittlement.

 

Has anyone tried the chrome spraypaint route.
