Default Name that Rim.....

Hello,

Long time lurker, lots of good info that I have picked up for my 944. Many thanks for the entertainment as well. I will have to post an intro thread very soon.

I have a question that I have not been able to answer searching around Rennlist. I recently picked up some early offset 3 piece (maybe 2 piece) rims that the previous owner had on his 911 SC when he bought it. He thought they were Gotti's but I don't think so. They are 16", 36 bolt and have a really odd valve stem setup with a notch in the rim. Thats about all I know about them.

Any insight on what they may be would be helpful.

I also have this posted this up on the "Wheel & Tire" section but am getting no love over there. Or at least nobody knows what they are.

In any case they are going to need some refurb work but I think they look pretty good on the car. Unique at least.

Thanks,
Eric

Those look extremely custom one off jobs that someone did on a early c&c machine def 2 piece with that huge notch in there. I have never seen those in my 18 years of fooling with Porsches?

I would've said Simmons too, but they're definitely slightly different.

Any markings on the back?

Thanks for all the replies.

There are no markings on the back (or face) of the wheel.

To me it looks like someone had purchased the rings (or ring I guess if it is a 2 piece) and had the centres custom made. That is about all I can think. The closest I have been able to find with a simiar valve stem configuration are Hart Racing wheels which seem to be more for the JDM scene. These ones are similar but are usually stamped in the cast centre and use a centre cap to cover the lugs.
