Brakes
"I have learned that there are some inserts that you are supposed to replace when you replace the brake pads. These inserts, from what I understand, are critical for proper pad alignment and if you don't replace them the breaks will squeak. "
I READ THIS ON A WEBSITE, IS IT TRUE, MY BRAKES HAVE BEEN SQUEAKING EXCESSIVELY LATELY?
THANKS

I didn't replace any inserts, nor did I see any in the calipers.
Was this Porsche specific or a generic brake tip?
Your brakes might squeak because of the pads. Some of the better pads make noise.

From: Central Illinois. Cornfields a plenty.
I didnt see any- fronts/ rears or both???
anyone remember "clover" compound? IIRC that's what it was called.
I remember using this stuff to help brake pads cut in with new rotors- this was about 10 years ago.. It was supposed to cut down on chatter and squeaking during the initial cut-in phase of a new rotor's life.
Or was I drinking antifreeze then??!!??
