Thanks Dan.
That sounds correct based on my two sets. I pictured a totally flat lense.
I have never seen a US lense up close.
That's funny, eh?
Even at the get together at my place we didn't stop to evaluate each other's lenses!
(Though two of us had your handy work in our engine bays!)

Tom, I don't think they started any distribution of the supers until around 2000, certainly not back in 1985. I have an old 2001/2002 Hella catalog and the supers are not even listed.

$100 each in '85 was probably the price for the regular E-Code lenses. There were huge markups in the distribution system back then. And I really mean huge at every step along the way.

What is with you and stolen cars? You are like that guy in the Little Abner cartoon strip that allways walks around with a black thunder cloud over his head just waiting for the next disaster to strike.

Wow those suckers went down in price big time! The regular H4s threw off an awesome beam. They angled up on the right side, road signs with the reflective dots looked like they were lit up. that was with the standard 55/60 bulb.

Three cars stolen. That's the price you pay for living in or around Gotham.

I knew there was a reason I never took that job in NYC. And I would probably have been at the top of WTC #1 that horrible day.

The beam pattern of an E-Code lens you noticed that is like __/ is the standard for right hand lane cars. Opposite for the Brits and many of their former colonies that drive on the left hand lane.

I think the reason the lens prices came down so much was actually due to the internet. Widespread information in action.

I used to work on the 101st floor of tower one. felt the heat from the second explosion on my face. And to think I was pissed when they downsized me.

Thats the pattern _/. I love those lights. I have the vision minus in the new S2. since the PO put them in last year and i dont use the car at night I will leave them in. I wish they had a brighter bulb for the camaro. those tiny squares are pretty useless. Im too lazy to switch the fogs with decent driving lights.
