I sent $100 via PayPal to Joe... let me know if you've got it (I also send an email):
jacob.krans@uconn.edu
FYI, there is no doubt in mind that if I win, then for the cost of registration, title, etc, you can have my Euro 944.
More importantly, good luck in raising all the funds you hope to raise!

Sounds like a great idea.
One question...
...what are the tax implications of winning? Do you have to pay any taxes?
If so, do you have to pay taxes on the "bluebook" value of the car, or the "actual" value of the car?

Taxes. My CPA says that you have to pay taxes on the car equal to the value minus the ticket price. So....depending on how savy you are, you can get an appraisal or go by KBB, or an insurance company that may insure the car. Remember, it's an 86. It's really up to you. Some people out there think my car sis worth 10-15 grand. Some think it's priceless. Personally I think it's worth $100 shot to win.

Joe,
I have an email saying you didn't take that paypal $. I hope you have it! If not, just hollar, I'll send it via Cashier's Check (to be read: I don't want to, but I will!).
FYI, I now feel certain I can't win;
I got ticket #0001
Ticket #0001 NEVER WINS!!!!!
Seriously though, Joe, thanks for doing this, it gives us - the community - a chance to reach out and try to help. And it gives a darned good reason to!

I think I'll be in this evening. Gotta check out the funds situation, but I will definately be in before the drawing. You can have my car if I win, but you might have to fight Scott Harrison for it (sh944).

I have spent the last year to fix up my car, 83 with 86 turbo conversion, billet fuel rail, 250lb springs, hollow big swaybar, greddy profec-b waste gate controller, msd boost timing master, msd 6al CDI, rebuild turbo and cylinder head, converted to manual steering. refinished and installed 15x7 15x8 fuch rims. replaced all four cv joints with new ones, just recently found out that I have scored cylinder walls and possibly stuck rings in number 4, after miss diagnossing a bad valve/s. I did all the repair work myself and regret overlooking the cylinders. I wanted to build my car and compete at the local autocross events. I am now out of money to fix the motor. I want to donate money to your cause. If I could sell my fuel rails, I would donate that money for the charrity, to get my tickets for the raffle. OR I could donate my fuel rail to the project car and or powerhause if there is any interest in trading a ticket for my fuel rail. I hope nobody is offended by my offerings, I am also looking for a bit of sympathy in regards to my engine and the sobering wall I ran into.
included is a picture of the fuel rail installed on Alan Colemans car.
Best regards to you and your family and best of luck with the fund raiser.

I'm in for sure... Moneys tight now but as soon as I get the cash for my n/a that was recently totaled (not my fault) put me up for a ticket. Thats a bitchin car, its black too,(the only colour a 944 should be). The perfect replacement for the gaping porscheless hole in my garage. I've got a 1974 FJ-40 landcruiser with 33x12 inch super swampers if you want something indestructible...
