It also ignorant since I am almost certain that a Ford 302 fits right in, the Porsche is also a 302 in the later 928s! I actually saw a 928 with a 350 one time with Porsche valve covers, he had a shop make them for him.

I'm not able to view your photos for some reason, but it's interesting that both professional wheel shops have different opinions about the "fixability" of the wheels. One says they can be fixed, the other says they can't. It hardly seems that a private owner should be able to tell the difference if the pros can't.
Last time I was at Ye Olde Wheel Shoppe (maybe two years ago) straightening wheels was $75 and painting was an additional $50. I guess prices went up.
