thats the one i looked at. very nice car but it needs the maintenance work done.
I ordered the owners manual for under $20 new. there is a spare tire with jack on ebay for 25 and the junkyard is in the same town i have to have
dinner in next saturday.
A new radio, and some relocation/removal of the amps and i am done!!! maybe i will get lojack.
total should be about $350 before lojack.
my brother is interested in the 86 for 6900. i will call the guy tomorrow and see where he is dollarwise.

i realized the difference between the chevy and the porsche maintenance wise.
with the porsche all the maintenance is preventative. very preventative. if something isnt prevented the wait for parts, and the damage is significant.
with the chevy, maintenance is as things break, fix them. i will change the oil in a few weeks, check the coolant, and maybe next year change it, worry about the clutch when it stops working. and who cares about the timing belt. let it break, i have AAA gold. and while im at it, maybe i will spring the extra fifty bucks for a water pump.
the porsche is a much more balanced car though. if i didnt love my wife, and consider myself very lucky to be married to her I would have gone for another porsche. she says another porsche is in our future, just not right now. she cant deal with taking me to the train and picking me up at night while i wait for parts to come in from texas or oregon.

Tom,
When were the plugs changed?
My brother's '90 Firebird had two plugs sieze in the block. The two all the way in the back. The metal threads actually seized to the block.
Might want to get these changed ASAP - and use anti-sieze compound when putting new ones in.
