Default OT: Tornado Feul Saver?

I was watching this infomercial (at 3:30 at night) just now, it was for the Tornado. for those not familiar, it is a metal insert that is installed in you intake system to spiral the air into your engine. By doing this, they claim it increases fuel efficient by 24%, rear wheel horsepower increase of up to 20% (yes, they show a dyno test of an impala which gained 20 HP at the wheels from 200 to 220) and it will also defend against nuclear attacks, and make 100 dollar bills shoot out your exhaust. does anyone know anything. I'm sure it may be effective, but not that effective, maybe a couple percent (2-5% maybe?) difference, and thats it. well, heres a website that gives some info...

The website

some say it does and doesn't but what most people are looking at is the power it "supposed" to make.wel i dunno about the power but it really does save gass mileage.

If anyone is dumb enough to believe that, I have a goose that lays golden eggs to sell you.

Syndicated mechanic Sam Memmelo always advertises it on his radio show. Although I don't believe it will produce much power, I believe that it will increase your gas mileage.

it may make a swirling vortex thorugh your main air intake tube, but once it gets to your intake manifold does it split into 4 or 6 or even 8 little swirling vortexes... HELL NO that thing is bullshat

of course Sam Memmelo advertises it.. they pay him to. Hell, i'd say it works if someone PAID me to.

Think about the airflow patterns from the airfilter to the afm to the manifold and then injectors. theres no way it does anything effective.

anyone familiar with the term "PLACIBO?"

Hmm, well, I'll tell ya what Luke: Because you have such a pretty face, I'll trade ya for your car! Smokin' deal buddy... once in a lifetime.

Not only does this goose lay 24karat eggs, but it can also play the piano.

At the speed that air flows into the combustion chamber (sometimes super-sonic) the swirl patten of the tornado won't do crap. Damn, I wanted that goose, looks like Luke got it first.

at best it lets less air into your engine, decreasing your fuel input via the computer, so you get better gas mileage. you do NOT get any power gains though. basically its an intake restrictor, what a load of BS. theres no way it could work like they say it does, and if that is in fact what they said, their math is horrible!

yea, this is kinda what i expected to hear, it annoyed me at how they blatantly stated a bunch of crap like that, i mean they even show am Impalla dyno and register 200, then 220 after.
